I had an idea of having three wreaths and each one is made by one of the kids.  Over Christmas break I gave them each a wreath to wrap in yarn.

Ideas never work out quite like the expectation,  Jeff and Coco wanted every single yarn lined up perfect, so they found themselves a little overwhelmed with the project. Eti who is on the other end of the spectrum held his wreath up in the air to use as a hoop and threw the yarn through it.  The ball of yarn went across two rooms unraveling all the way.

My mom Crocheted the flowers for me and I made some fabric ones to add to it as well.

Now they are hanging in my upstairs hallway.  In the bookshelf I have pictures of the kids and one blank frame to remind me to pray for our little Ethiopian daughter.

I also shot a picture of the opposite wall where I  hung the paintings from Steve's parents.  Steve grew up reading a French comic book called Tintin and his parents had these canvases painted for him.

I laughed, picturing Eti throwing his yarn! Crocheted flowers? Yay! Now I know what I can do with the length of yarn that was going to be a scarf but never got that far. I'll turn it into a flower! I like the blue knobs on your little cabinet; they look like they came out of a bin at Anthropologie Cool ideas!

Great wreaths. Had to laugh at the description of Eti's technique.
So sweet to see the frame waiting for your little daughter to be.
Praying she comes soon.

I've never believed in all the psychology about "firstborns" being a certain way, and "second-borns" all sharing particular attributes, but I might have to start changing my opinion, because Eti's method sounds EXACTLY like what my Gracie would do (for all that she's not quite nine months yet, her personality is showing in ABUNDANCE. Abundance, I say), and Joy would be much more like Jeff and Coco, very determined and focused and a perfectionist.

I love the Tintin books. (English translation, naturally) Our library at home had almost all of them, and my best friend Ethan and I would get them out and pore over them. Awww ... now I'm feeling all nostalgic, and I'm going to have to check our library here to see if they have any, just for old time's sake!

The flowers, both crocheted and fabric, are really beautiful, and the frame awaiting Ethie is so so sweet.

Love you, Jo!

those are absolutely gorgeous wreaths. wow. I love the beautiful pictures you have of your family...you have quite a gift in that area. I also love the idea of the blank frame which you know will be filled one day with your beautiful hand picked by God little lady. When i saw those paintings i knew they were Tintin right away...i used to devour those books at the library when i was growing up. such a great series they were. so awesome to have such a personal gift like that. Was Steve a missionary kid then? I think you might have mentioned that in the post about the kids being baptized...that is cool.

I like!  I like!  It's great when I get a peek into your home.  I love the idea of the empty frame and the wreaths are so pretty.  I really like the comic book paintings, too.  The home is for EVERYONE, right?  Not just mama.  :)

I have a doctor's appt. this morning and have the boys shoveling the driveway for me right now.  I have on the green scarf today and feel properly accessorized!  Oh, and  I just moved my change into the cool little change purse.

Have a wonderful day dear friend~

I was reading about your beautiful blessing (God is so GOOD and so amazing). He knew the day would come where you would break, where you would beg and ask for the day, but He also knew He would lead you until that day, until the day He would let you break down and beg.... : ) He is awesome... JUST AWESOME!

I am commenting on this blog because I also love this frame idea. I wanted to let you know that there is someone out there who is going to check out prices to fit them in her future weekly budget. : )

God Bless you, your family, and HER! - what wonderful things!
