El Rampo De La Muerte

We all had a day off today.  The kids spent almost the entire day outside playing in the snow.

Steve helped them build ramps in the back yard for the sleds.  One of the ramps Steve named El Rampo De La Muerte. It is higher than it looks in the picture and when they land they go over another ramp.  I think all of the kids are going to bed with compressed spines but happy nonetheless.

They also built an igloo and a snow fort.  Jeff named the fort Helm's Deep and he and Eti talked about big battles and made preparations.  Chloe was busy forming a couch out of snow and making snow cookies and parking the sleds and toy cars all nice out by the door to make it a home.   The puppy was running around nipping at their snow boots.

Later they all decided to sled off the top of the igloo and named that one The Widow Maker.  Chloe came in the kitchen crying, and I asked, "The Widow Maker?" and she nodded "yes," blinking through a face full of snow.

After I dried her off, she wanted to go right back out to try to keep up with the boys.

Steve and I were spying on them from the upstairs window.  No one was arguing, the boys were giving Coco rides on the back of their sleds, the sun was out and they were all laughing a lot.  Steve said "Freeze the day!"

So fun!  Glad you had a good day off!  Are you getting snow today?  We are, and it is falling so beautifully.  I just went out on the porch to show it to Seth and he grinned.

That face! Terror and excitement all rolled into one. What fun! We're getting loads of snow, and I'm so, so happy to see it coming down and transforming our drab February landscape into a Narnian winter's day!

haha love these type of days! When you actually take advantage of the snow it is really quite fun!  We spend too much of our time being mad at it.  What fun memories!  Oh I also wanted to tell you I came across this amazing photography site tara whitney.  I have been loving her site  for days just recently, and last night I went back to read your message about lenses and saw that you recommended her site to me a long time ago.  I had to laugh since I always think I pay such close attention to detail!!  anyway thought I'd share...hope you have a great day.  I love that you have been posting more frequently lately.

What fun!!! How great. Kids love that. We had snow a few days ago, ten inches, in north texas! That is unheard of. We also worked on an igloo, went sledding, and made a snowman. fun times
