Worth more than a penny

"It is the poofing-est that it has ever been poofy"  is what he said in reference to his hair right before his haircut today.

All Summer he has been talking about different hair cuts that he wants.  One in particular stands out that he has asked for repeatedly.   He tried his best to describe a haircut that is VERY short on the sides and then even shorter on the top.  He would use hand gestures and all the words in his 7 yr old vocabulary to describe this dream cut but Steve and I couldn't picture what he was saying.

One day at church he came to us so excited, "There Mom, see that guy, he has the EXACT hair I want"  and proceeded to point to a good friend of ours who is bald, the kind where it is a deep receding hairline but he has kept some hair wrapped around the sides, cut very short.

We laughed and laughed and said  "Eti people don't pay to get their hair like that, it is called a receding hairline"

He said  "I don't mind, that's what I really want, I want a receding hairline."

We helped him let go off that dream style and since then he has been asking for "Almost completely bald, where there is only fuzz"

His 30 seconds of having a mohawk, Chloe ran and got him a mirror so he could admire it.  Can you see Steve with the clippers behind him, just counting the seconds before he could buzz it off?

Outside taking the "after shots" he started doing this little dance while turning then he would stop, continue dancing and then stop again long enough for me to get a picture, I asked him "Eti what are you doing?"

I just want to make sure you get every side"

Eti and I came up with a get-rich-quick-plan where he can charge people a penny whenever they want to rub his new hair.

Oh, that smile ... I am one of those people who loves to rub mostly shaved heads; Eti'd make a fortune off of me alone!

His hair is really close to Carys's current look! Except we're hoping hers grows :)

He would fit in so well with my buzzed boys.  Doesn't your Mama heart just love how it gives him back just a tad of that baby face you used to know?

Thanks for the comment today...I was excited for you to see my new clothes.  I was mostly happy w/the fact that I finally got some pants that FIT.

When do your kids start school?

That was so sweet!  My Dad is bald and has what we call "fringe benefits" around his head, he used to tease kids and tell them that "this," pointing to his head, "is what happens when you don't eat your veggies,"  I'm afraid that would have backfired with Eti!!  I have been so surprised at how particular boys are about their hair, I always thought it was a girl thing--of course I had no brothers so what did I know?  Each of my boys have a particular style they want and there is no two ways about it, I do my best with the clippers, but I think we'll have to start going to a barber soon.

*LOL* Soooo funny that he finally found someone with the "exact" hair he wanted. *LOL*

My little guy got a buzz a few weeks ago and loves that he doesn't have to have his hair parted and fixed before church. :)

That was sooo funny to hear who had the exact hair he wanted. He is too cute, and I would want to rub his head as well. We always had fun with the clippers when cutting off longer hair and leaving swathes of long hair in a mohawk. David always wants longer hair, so no clippers of late.

awww Eti is sooo big now. i remember when you were taking pictures of him on his 4th birthday or something like that. what beautiful precious kids you have my dear. I loved the mohawk...kids are so funny in their views on life,  even though they are not generally filtered very well there is often so much truth in what they say. my friend and i were talking about this the other day cause her four year old has started saying the funniest things to her lately....and she is amazed that she is remembering this big statements and she seems to have a grasp on when to use them. How is the wedding season going for you? is Steve's job still going well. are the kids excited to be back to school soon..or maybe tey are back already, you guys start earlier then us i hear.

love you girl
