Stumbled upon

Somehow these pictures were on the very last file of the wedding I was editing today, and it was a very very nice surprise on this muggy, slow day, to stumble upon Steve smiling at me.   The last one is SO steve... kind, not at all serious, and so very handsome.

When I took these pictures of him we were on our way to a Lebanese restaurant where I had the very best gyros I have ever eaten.  Steve's parents had the kids for a few days.  While the kids were gone I shot a wedding and he was working on classes non stop but we took one evening to be with each other.  I think when life is crazy you relish the "down" time more.

Steve just emailed me from work and said to postpone dinner because we are taking the kids to the pool so I have to run and get us all ready.   The pool will only be open for twenty minutes by the time we get there so we are just jumping in swimming hard and then heading back home.

P.S.

I just bought twenty chairs on Craigs list and Steve picked them all up for me on his lunch break and somehow fit them in the van.  I am including the picture that was on craigs list to show you my "dream" chairs for our dining room table.

See we have had these very tall Amish-y chairs that need to have the seats redone, the weave was coming apart and parts of the..whatever it is called..(it looks like twisted straw) was hanging down like dreadlocks under the chair. If guests were coming I would give the dreads a haircut.   Every once in a while I would price chairs but they are SO expensive.  Whenever I went to a used furniture store they only had traditional wooden chairs.  So I prayed and waited and God gave me the perfect, modern, exact color of my downstairs, retro- better than I could have dreamed set of chairs.  They look plastic but they are strong wood.

I need to take my own photos of the chair, but this will have to do because I want to get the post up.

I suspect that half of you will think the chair is ugly and not understand why my heart is so happy, but the style  is so me.  My table is a very old, heavy school table that I stripped and stained  dark almost black, I wish I could invite you all over and have a little show and tell.

Are they all the same color?  I like them a lot!  It will look great, and so eclectic (however you sp. it!!!) around a wooden table.   I could so see the picture (that I'm imagining) in Country Living.  You must post a pic of your table w/the chairs once you get it all set up.

Steve doesn't seem to age.  Jeff looks SO much like him!

Keep posting!!!  :)  Love ya...have a GREAT day today.  It's gonna be another hot one for us here...w/no AC...ugh...

I too am anxious to see the chairs in their new setting.  Don't know if they are my taste, but I don't dislike them.  Loved the pictures.

Well, take a picture of the table and chairs when you get it all set up and show us!  This I gotta see!  You are right ~ they are not chairs that would appeal to me, but somehow, I just know your room will look beautiful with them all when you get done with it ~ please let us see!

GIRL! FABulous pictures of the handsome, indeed, hubby! What a great guy! I have a guy like that but mine looks a bit different and he is such a dear. 20 chairs...i can't even imagine! Our dining area is a 4ft. x 21/2 ft. table against the wall between the kitchen and livingroom! We've lived like this for 23 years and it's awful to not be able to have "everyone" over! Anyway, I LoVE your chairs, even if they're not my style. I do shabby chic cheap/little house on the prairie. But I do appreciate other styles. I hope you post more pictures soon!  Love, GAil

Those chairs would look GREAT in my house, too!  :)  We want to have our chairs recovered b/c the vinyl is coming off (along with the stuffing).  It's going to be EXPENSIVE.  Pray tell, will all the chairs fit around your table?

What a gift to find great pics of your hubby!  That must have made you smile.  Chairs are so expensive.  Our are completely different from our table and need work!!  20 retro chairs are fantastic, and I think with the shape they will be comforable too.  Very handy for gatherings.  Almost everyone that opens their home for our church has some folding chairs from church...just to help fit more people.  Though i remember old days crowding into a home and completely covering the floor with people during Bible study...I don't think that is such a problem!
