A page in their story

009web

Recently my cousin Rachel and her husband Chris asked me to do a family shoot when they came to town.  I like them so much.  Chris is in Seminary, they are both artsy, with depth.

Chris and Rachel are not engaged they have passed that stage, they are not at the door about to walk through and enter a new life as husband and wife, that is also a previous chapter for them.  They are at the comfortable stage of marriage, where they now have some years and two children written into their story.

There are ebbs and flows, rain and then sun again that all of us who have been married for more than a year know all about.  They have experienced life for a while together and can look around and say "Yes we are one, we are together on the same path, committed to each other and have established a home, a private world for the four of us."  Like a secret that only they know.  That, is what I wanted to capture...the comfortable affection of this beautiful family.

Love the one with Daddy and his kiddos, ADORABLE. I also love the first shot of Rachel and Chris, you can see their love vividly in it.

So lovely! I went to college with Rachel - she was a year or two behind me I think.

Thanks for your critique! I so appreciate it, and I am going to try your suggestions perhaps tomorrow. I have been afraid of natural light for some silly reason - afraid to get it wrong perhaps.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I'm still engrossed in the pictures. We had some of them printed out in all different sizes and they blow me away. Your words are so kind. When are you coming out to visit?! :)
