Inch worms

"Behold, you are present, and deliver us from our miserable wanderings, and establish us in your way, consoling us and saying: Run, and I will bear you up."  Augustine (pg 131)

Etienne and Chloe spend the day dressing up, Eti came down like this all on his own..except for the mustache.  He asked Steve to make him one and the next thing I knew Eti was looking up at me just exactly like the first picture and I laughed loud and then heard Steve say  "I made the handlebar mustache special just so I could hear your laugh."

My friends Carl and Louise came over on Friday.. Louise is my friend who introduced me to the book "North and South" they just moved out of state so I was really looking forward to seeing them again.  Louise is pregnant with her second child, her daughter (below) kept us all entertained during their visit.

We are all sick today, I say we, I mean Jeff and Etienne, they both have fevers close to 103.  I took them to the doctors today and Jeff fell asleep on the table waiting for the doctor to come in.  He has had a migraine for two days, and just keeps his eyes closed most of the time. Eti is missing costume/dress up week at his school.

On Sunday I was determined not to miss taking a photo of the day but with everyone sick I was distracted and not inspired.  Steve suggested I take a photo of the boys but they looked so sad.  Chloe has been as hyper and happy and they have been weepy and tired and she filled a few pages of "inch worm" drawings to cheer them up.  I do not know why she drew inch worms of all things but it was the cheerful part of my day.

Today Chloe was making herself busy being their nurse.  I like how hard she is concentrating in this photo to hear Eti's heartbeat. She took her role very seriously.

Eti was wringing it for all it was worth.  I heard him say "Nurse can you get me my drink" and when I looked over it was RIGHT next to him, his finger tips were touching the cup and Coco was all "Sure Eti!" in her squeaky voice running to get it, and held it to his mouth!  She might as well have curtsied.

Steve made her a  nurse hat, she says she wants to be a nurse when she grows up which is huge news in our house because for the past twelve months it has been "I want to work at Mcdonalds when I grow up" always followed by Eti trying to talk her into working for Burger king because "Their food tastes better".

Eti aspires to grow up and live near Coco to get free food.

Jeff wants to be a bounty hunter.

Maybe he will be going after them because fast food is not free.

Yeah we're doing a GREAT job raising them!

Don't you just LOVE their pretend play.  I like to sit back and just listen (and laugh quietly to myself).

Oooh! lol You have such sweet children! That mustache made me laugh, too. Hope your boys are feeling better soon. What a cute little nurse!

PS I never answered you about the redwork quilt - so sorry. I do not have a photo, but the next time I go to Dad and Mom's I will take one! :)

So cute!  The whole thing is cute.  But, it's no fun to have sickies in the house and I hope everyone is feeling all better now.  Did I tell you that Caleb had strep throat and D had an ear infection last week when I brought home Seth?  J and E are also on antibiotics.  Thankfully three of the sickies are in NY with Rich's mom.

I hope you have a great day!

I hope you are feeling better! We have all been sick off and on for the past few weeks. I've been pondering opening all the windows and just freezing all the bugs out!
Your kids, as usual, are darling!

Aw, I hope the kids' sickness didn't interfere with your travel plans! It was so great to see you on Friday, my only complaint was that it was too short. Give the kids big hugs from Aunt Louise and Uncle Carl (and Dasha too, of course).
