Closer look

008web

I thought I posted this already, I found it still on "private" from September.

I was on a "date" with Eti we were holding hands and he started talking about photographs, and I was curious what he thought about what I do so I asked him "Eti why do you think Mommy takes pictures?"

He thought about it and then said "Because you like to look at things closer".

I have been reading Chloe "The Nutcracker" because I am taking her on Friday to see the ballet.  In an edition from Warren Chappell there is a quote that I have read over and over:

"There are as many wonders as ever, for those who have eyes to discover them."

These pictures of a birch tree were taken on a day when I felt spoiled. When I shoot weddings there is beauty everywhere, I don't need to look, it is at every glance handed to me.  So on this day I was home and wanted to challenge myself to find beauty in my yard, to go seek it out in the commonplace.

What a great answer.....your son must be as creative and artistic as you are! :) Birch trees are one of my favorite kind of trees...these are great closeups to bark! :) Nice!

Beauty in the backyard?  There's lots out there that's for sure....and you have the pictures to prove it.

I just read The Nutcracker (a short version of it) to Grace the other night.  I love this time of year!

It is because of your photography and that of my other Xanga photographer friends that I have a renewed interest in taking pictures! My camera goes with me everywhere now and I am appreciating so much more of the world around me! Keep snappin' away, dear girl! love, Gail p.s. I've always dreamed of going to see the Nutcracker. So far, no go.

If a picture can inspire a song (remembrance), your pictures reminded of this one:

When the music fades, all is swept away, And I simply come: Longing just to bring, something that’s of worth, that will bless your heart.   I’ll bring you more than a song, For a song in itself Is not what you have required. You search much deeper within, through the way things appear; You’re looking deep into my heart.

Merry Christmas! See you soon!
