Now that it is Spring

001blog2

The weather man said:

"The sun will be out in full force this afternoon. LIVE YOUR LIFE!"

The sun did come out...all bright and warm.

005blog

Eti painted last years leaves so the robin's would have something nice to look at while they waited for new ones to grow.

I finger painted and listened to the birds.

What a FUN way to spend such a gorgeous day. I would have been scared to death that your beautiful blanket would get covered in paint.

Was this Sabrina inspired?  I checked out her website last night to try to see why you were so excited to meet her in person.  The pages you did today remind me of her work!  Good job!

I'm glad you and the kids had fun!

@purpleamethyst76 - Sabrina does inspire me, but this was more inspired by Spring in the air than anything else.  The kids painted most of the pictures I posted, I only put the words on them. Glad you liked it!

it was such a gorgeous day! Good to see that you got to enjoy it with your family.
Your photos are always so clear and beautiful. What kind of camera do you use?

I love the flower boots!! I think my girls each need a pair (not that I ever take them out in the rain or mud, but they are still adorable). I love the pictures and glad that you got to enjoy the day outside. I need to make more of an effort to do that, but I have a million excuses why I don't

I love Coco's boots! Eti has such a thoughtful spirit--him wanting to give the robins something nice to look at was so sweet.

First of all....I love the wellies!
I.
want.
wellies.
too.
!!!

Then I wanted to tell you how inspiring this post is. I am just wanting to get the paints out in preparation for yet another journal!!!
This is sooo good for your children to experience..the creating, the mess, the process=the finished masterpiece! When I was teaching art, there were many children who were just so intimidated by the idea of diving into a project like this. They were so wired to just color a page....in the lines. To be able to think of something on their own was difficult. I would start them slowly...and slowly they began to enjoy the process...yes, even getting paint on their hands!

(BTW- I hated coloring in the lines as a kid...but soon learned that it was what the teacher expected. I have a son just like me..and he is still "coloring outside the lines".)
:^)

Lastly...
What a perfect ending to a beautiful spring day...
MUD PIES!!

Enjoy your weekend, JO!

first of all i have to say that those boots that your little one is wearing are SOOOO cute. i almost want a pair for myself, although i'm not sure i'd carry it off quite as nicely. i adore your journal with the poems, writing and the pictures. gorgeous. that last picture was inspirational to me...in so many ways. i hope you don't mind if i borrow it for my computer wallpaper. i think i need that reminder that embraces spring so much...and growth and renewal. thank you my dear for sharing your gift. every time i read an entry my heart is blessed. you have a beautiful gift in this photography..and i must admit some pretty darn cute models to have in your pictures. thank you for this amazing moment of your spring shared with us. i LOVE that you guys went outside and painted. that is sooo cool. oh to be a child again and to revel in those kinds of beauty.
