She's back!!!!!

Mikayla is back with the family for a few months.  She called us right before her flight on Jon's cel phone, she was so excited you could not make out any words. The occasional "hatee" (what she calls Eti) and Jeff but the rest was all squeals.  She was just beside herself.

I had Jon call me before he pulled up the driveway so I would be ready with the camera for the reunion of the cousins.  I pictured this slow-mo running towards each other, arms outstretched, tears even.  But it was more like a moment of awkward silence and then "ya' wanna' ride bikes?"

"yeah Jeffy I wanna' ride bikes, my Daddy bought me a new pink bike...Daddy will you bring out my bike so I can show Jeffy?"

and then they were all off holding hands and giggling as if it was just yesterday that she was here instead of more than five months.

ADORABLE! I'm glad you included that last picture of C, she is so scrumptious with that itty bitty pony tail! When I read "She's Back!" I thought, "well, it's about TIME", because I thought you meant yourself w/the blogs. Ha Ha ha. . . .KK is as pretty as ever and her hair is just like mine was when I was a little girl. Long, dark, w/the bangs.
(PS, I was bound and determined to comment w/OUT using the word CUTE. LOL)

How fun! I used to have such a blast playing with my cousins when we were little. Oh, the memories.

What a blast!  We'd sometimes be four years without seeing our cousins and when it was time for a reunion there was always a little fear about how we'd relate.  But every time was as much fun as the previous one, and we still enjoy getting together though it's rare now.

Carl and I both got choked up looking at this one...SO glad she's back (though not, I'm sure, as glad as you all are). The pictures of all of them together are beautiful.

I loved the bit about their big emotional reunion--"so...you wanna ride bikes?" Not quite like the movies, is it?

Here is the amazon link to the book I used in my birthday post for my son. What little boys are made of, illustrated by Jim Daly http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0736902686/ref=nosim/103-1675800-1840646?n=283155

These pictures are beautiful, Babe!  I especially love the one with just their shoes.  You gotta love Éti's choice of footwear!

I also love the one w/the four of them on their bikes.

It is so great having Kay Kay back.  She fits in so seamlessly with the boys, it's like a missing piece being restored.  I feel like my family is a little more complete now that she's here.

You are SUCH an inspiration to me!!  I was taking some time to read back on some of your posts that I have missed, and wow...you remind me what the important things in life are.  Thanks for that!  I hope that one day I am a wonderful, loving mother like you are.

Sorry I haven't blogged - saw your post. It is just too nice - nice weather, nice company - just went kyaking in the ocean on the Outer Banks - too fun.

Tons of blogging to do when I get home - don't want to do it on my husbands work computer.

Beautiful girl! Beautiful pics! Adorable family!!! I love the singing one...was it "New York, New York" by chance? *LOL* I am so jealous that you got piggies in Coco's hair!!! I tried with Maddie this morning and failed miserably! Maybe soon!!

I also love the shoe shot! That's what I get for coming late to your comments. Everybody already said it so well!

Have a blessed day!

I love the photos on your page. I went back and looked at some of your other entries. I love the midnight sepia you applied to give some that fairytale look. I want to get a good camera and get a better grasp of photoshop.

The Angelina and Brad picture on my page is a really good one. I love how it shows how their feelings for their new baby. Like your work, it dosen't need a title. The picture tells all.

Once again, very cool. I'm so happy for you all. what a golden moment of childhood!  They will also be glad to have pictures of this. At least I hope so! Kids sometimes grow up unappreciative of the talents of the parents.  Cheer!   ~Marci

Lisser I put notes about my camera under the NYC post (the one with the guy playing the drum).

I have been so busy and came home with just enough time to check this and was so thrilled to see how many of you noted on this post!  Thank you, it is always such an encouragement!

hey Jo.  Which song is it?  Is it the big house ?  A big big house, with lots and lots of rooms?  lol.  I have a player on the side of my xanga so it randomly plays different songs everytime you open the page up.  :)  Have a great day!

I'm so glad Mikayla is home with us again.  I can't wait to have her over here to play with Nate and Ally.  With the kids being sick this week I haven't been able to see her.  (so sad)...  I miss the way she calls Ally 'Allysant'.   awwww.  what a beautiful, beautiful girl she is, our kay-kay.

Jo,
My goodness the Jeffery Genes are strong! All of the kids are beautiful first of all, but they all look "Jeffery" in their own ways! What lovely children we all make! :) (Tell Janet to hurry up to see if the same holds true for her!)
I'm so glad Mikayla is with you now. I'm sure you will soak her up and make some great memories.
Thank you for your honesty and humor in blogging. It's nice to hear from a "real" mom that there is humor and beauty in the daily messes of motherhood.
Thanks.
Rachel

ps. Chris and I were wondering if any of your prints are for sale? You have a gift!
