| | No pictures no frills just wanted to put on "paper" what a great night I had. Mom wanted some time with her "Grand babies" so we dropped Eti' and CoCo off and went to the library with Jeff. We were the last ones to leave, and if that doesn't make me a nerd, read on... I am way behind on laundry and forgot until it was too late that I had one black sock on and one gray <blush> can I pull it off as "what I am just being artsy?!"
I have been going to this same library since I was a child, every week. Nothing has changed. The librarians know me, my husband, and my kids by name. And every Monday I walk out of there with a pile of books sometimes up to my chin. The librarians surprise me with great new books for me when they come in, and have taken my babies over the counter and carried them around. I love raising my kids among books. Jeff has already caught the bug, "hey Mom smell this book you're gonna' love it!"
I love watching them run in the front yard of the library it seems like only yesterday...
After the trip to the library we went to look at lights, our three, my Mom, and Mikayla piled in our van. We rode all over the city. I was cracking up b/c Mom and my voice was getting higher and higher getting the kids all excited "look look look there is a snow globe with snow coming down inside of it, look at the wheels on the train moving!" that sort of thing. And we are making all this noise in the back seat, like hyped up cheerleaders, but the kids were totally speechless. Just in awe.
When we pulled up to the park filled with so many lights, mikayla was overcome and burst out of nowhere "Merry Christmas Uncle Steve!" like what you would hear in an old B&W movie.
It became a hunt for lights, and every time Steve found a good pocket of richly decorated homes the kids would cheer "yeah for Daddy/Uncle Steve!"
My favorite was singing carols with Mom, she was so happy and it felt like I was 10 again. All of us on the edge of our seats.
We have done this "hunt for lights" with my Mom since before Jeff was born, but this was my favorite.
